E2 Conference

We headed to Boston last week to attend the E2 Conference (www.e2conf.com) hosted by the talented Event and Marketing professionals at UBM (UBM.com). The conference hosted IT professionals facing complexity in their organizations caused by trending issues in cloud, social and mobile.

We were pretty excited about this event. At OneLobby we are solving complex organizational issues for Event Planners. By using social technology to collaborate and streamline processes, we are realizing our vision of building an Event Planning platform as part of the new generation of organizational collaboration tools. This requires getting close to the issues, and creative minds working to solve them. Enterprise challenges related to IT matter to us, and so do events. Needles to say we arrived in Boston dialled in on a high frequency.

The great content at E2 was an added bonus, but I must admit- we've been spending a lot of time listening to Event Planners, sharing their stories, for better and worse. We've been spending a lot of time getting closer to the ground of what the life of an event planner is like day to day. It was time to jump into an event where we could tie the stories we are hearing with the experience we were about to have.

We arrived, looking for the "hair on fire" event organizers, a crisis management team on standby, an event director with a bullhorn. We were looking for the exhausted faces of a planning team with rolls of duct tape to hold it all together. Afterall, we've heard some pretty crazy stories.

But where were they? The tireless team that put this together? There was no evidence of anything overlooked or omitted. The E2 Conference flowed seamlessly. For both attendees and sponsors, there was effortless direction, excellent communication, great leveraging of technology to create a great attendee experience. It was fluid, seamless, smooth and seemingly effortless. It was a professionally oiled machine.

It speaks to the skill and professionalism of the teams behind events like this. The ability to create great attendee and sponsor experiences, despite the challenges we hear about is nothing shy of amazing. We believe these incredibly talented teams deserve a place to collaborate, plan, organize and execute so their experience is as fluid, smooth and seamless as the ones they create for us. At OneLobby, that's our goal. Thanks UBM for the great conference and experience. Can't wait for the next one!
